Water is back on! (Wednesday 5/22 @ 1:55 pm)

4/22/2015

Third time is the charm? We sure hope so. The water was turned back on today, Wednesday, 5/22 at 1:55 pm. We hope that this is the last time for the season that the water has to be shut down.

We are also taking steps to insure that we have water in the pond (from our ground water pump) early next year and are able to get through all these issues before the irrigation district releases water.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience these issues may have caused. We are also looking into a couple of things that might help to remedy these issues in the future.
  1. We will find out if there are isolation valves that can be used to disable sections of the irrigation so these events do not impact everyone.
  2. Whether or not we can penalize those who fail to have their irrigation systems shutdown properly in the fall - which is most likely the cause of these problems.

Again, the water is on, and we hope that we will have no more issues.

Thank you for your patience, during these issues.

Water is Down... again  (Tuesday 5/21 @ 12:20 pm)

We have had another line/valve break. When we know more we will post here.

Water is back on (Tuesday 5/21 @ 11:05 am)

The irrigation water is back on. Barring anymore breaks it should stay on for the season.

Our Apologies

4/20/2015

It's a long drawn out tale as to why the pond was not filled early and our irrigation problems resolved prior to the 10th. And yes, we are not 10 days past that and still without irrigation water. As some of you may be aware, we have had two breaks in "line or valves" that has required us to shut the system down to affect repairs. The 2nd one was notices Saturday (April 18, 2015) afternoon. They were unable to resolve the issue with out the assistance of the Landscape company. the landscape company was scheduled to work on that this morning (Monday, April 20, 2015) bu the homeowner left for work prior to Idaho Landscape's crew getting there and as fate would have it left their gate locked. Our hope is that Idaho Landscape will be able to dig up the break and repair it tonight or first thing tomorrow morning.W

We Apologies because...

...we should have posted something regarding this here as well as via the email blast, which it turns out has been delayed for technical (internet) reasons.

Irrigation Season 2015

3/13/2015

Per the Settler Irrigation District, which feeds water to our pond, the tentative date for turning water into the canal is April 10th, depending on weather conditions.

We are planning to use our ground water pump to fill the pond about 7 to 10 days earlier.

2014 Irrigation Water shut down

10/7/2014

The Settlers Irrigation District has indicated that the water is projected to turn off on October 10th.

Old Faithful

If you want to avoid this in the spring, now is the time to make plans for having your sprinklers blown out.

Be sure, after you have had your sprinkler lines blown out, that you have the main valve reopened. This will allow any remaining water to drain from your system into the larger irrigation pipes to avoid it freezing and causing the the valve to break.

If not drained from the valve, come spring you could find you have your own personal geyser, which is usually the cause of our irrigation water being turned off several times in the spring... to allow a homeowner to have the valve repaired.

Be considerate of your neighbors and have your irrigation system blown out and properly shut down for the winter.

2014 National Night Out

7/28/2014

National Night Out is Tuesday, August 5th, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, in the big park between Leslie Way and Troxel Way.  We are planning a fun filled evening.  There will be hot dogs, pizza, and ice cream.  Please bring a side dish to share (optional).  There will be games and a bounce house for the children, and a raffle for the adults.  You will receive 1 raffle ticket for each current Neighborhood Watch participant  (1 per household),  1 raffle ticket for each new Neighborhood Watch sign up (1 per household), and 1 raffle ticket for each can of food deposited into our barrel for the Meridian Food Bank.

We will also have a bike contest...so have your children decorate their bikes!  The Meridian Police Department Bike Patrol is suppose to come by to judge the bikes!

It's a fun night out...we hope you can all come out to relax, enjoy, and meet your neighbors!

Leash Requirements

5/30/2014

Per our Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&Rs), Article 4.22, "All dogs outside the home or outside the Lot fence must be leashed. Pets shall not be allowed in the Common Areas unless leashed"

The following was provided by one of our residents last week.
"Today, as I drove by the irrigation pond, I saw two women with their dogs off leash throwing balls into the irrigation pond for retrieval.  The site is clearly posted as to keeping pets on a leash.  Additionally, our irrigation pond is a wonderful site for wildlife.  Unfortunately, a mother duck was killed a couple of weeks ago (and it appeared to be by a dog) and left 8 baby ducks orphaned.  We are now down to 3 babies.  I find it personally abhorrent that individuals neither choose to obey the city's leash laws nor care about our subdivision rules and wildlife.  I certainly spoke up and told the ladies to get their dogs back on a leash.  As a community, what can we do about this?" ...redacted...  "Is there any way to protect our ducks and geese and stop this kind of flagrant abuse?  Thank you for your consideration. -- redacted

We appreciate everyone's help in making our community a safe, desirable, and attractive place to live.

Come Discuss Public Transportation in Meridian

2/21/2014

The City of Meridian is working with Valley Regional Transit and other interested parties on the development of public bus service within Meridian – specifically aSaturday bus route. This group has developed several bus route options. Plans now are to have the new route in operation as early as June 2014.

The first phase of public outreach to provide information and gather comment about the proposed route  is a stakeholders meeting. This meeting is scheduled for 3-6 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014 in conference rooms A and B at Meridian City Hall. These conference rooms are located on the first floor of City Hall.

You are receiving this e-mail because we want to hear what you have to say about the proposed bus route options and public transportation in Meridian. This meeting will be done in an open house format, so you can come on by anytime during the three-hour event.

Please let us know if you can attend. An RSVP is not required, but we want to make sure that we have enough people on hand to assist participants. Thanks.

Irrigation water to shut down for the season

10/2/2013

While we experienced a few bumps in the road to getting our ground water pump operational we were able to provide water for most of the month of September.

Now that the weather is turning cooler and the extended forecast is calling for more of the same with continued periods of precipitation we will be shutting down our ground water pump and allow the pond to drain.

The last day that pump will run will be Friday, October 4, 2013.
